Roasted Maple Glazed Chicken & Carrots

- ¾ teaspoon salt, divided
- ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 1 3/4 pounds total)
- 1 pound medium carrots, halved lengthwise if large
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
