Mardi Gras Beef

Festive and flavorful beef dish with Creole seasonings, great for celebrating with a Cajun flair.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder, divided
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 pound (1 inch thick) sirloin steak 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes, juice drained and reserved
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch salt and pepper to taste
