Black Forest Overnight Oats

Overnight oats are the perfect solution to starting your busy morning on the right foot. The combination of cherries and cocoa is inspired by a traditional Black Forest cake, creating richness and sweetness without adding too much sugar. A dollop of yogurt adds a little extra protein and a creamy texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened plain almond milk
  • 6 tablespoons almond butter
  • 3 tablespoons cherry preserves
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 4 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup frozen dark sweet cherries, thawed and diced
  • two 5-ounce containers plain greek or coconut yogurt
  • grated dark chocolate, for garnish, optional
